My name is Hoang. I’m 28 years old. I come from Lam Dong province. I have been living in Ho Chi Minh City for nearly 10 years.
After graduating from the University of Finance and Marketing in Ho Chi Minh City, I started working for Nova Corporation. Even with 7 years of experience and some notable achievements, I still found myself losing out on a lot of opportunities to get promoted to manager, or to work for a big company. This was the result of lacking sufficient competence in English.
Life is not always what we expect. When I realized that I had enough experience to join some big companies, I decided to change my job. I wasn’t hired; I failed in the first round of the interview. I also wanted to travel abroad without a tour guide and go anywhere I wanted to. But I couldn’t. I wanted to read classic books, such as Pride and Prejudice, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, etc. But I couldn’t.
My company offered me the opportunity to meet with some foreign customers, but I couldn’t communicate with them. I could only work through their interpreters. Right then and there, I felt really bad. I gave it a lot of thought and realized I needed to do something about it. Fortunately, my girlfriend encouraged me. She suggested that I should go to school and learn English just as she had. She had gained a lot after studying English at OLS. By the way, at that time I was already studying English by myself. I had tried every possible way to study English, such as watching videos on YouTube and expanding my vocabulary but they could not really help.
“I can’t do it” kept obsessing me for a long time. I wanted to overcome this obstacle so I finally decided to attend a course at OLS. After 3 months, I can now have general conversations with my clients in English. In those 3 months – 3 classes from 1000 to 3000, my English didn’t get vastly better but it still greatly exceeded my expectations.
I think that I made a wise decision going to this school. I have improved my language skills and I am totally satisfied with what I have achieved.
I would like to express my thanks to the teachers of Outerspace Language School for being so devoted.
Thank you so much!
